ShopReels privacy policy

ShopReels is a Shopify app made by TagPoint. It turns products in your Shopify store into short videos and posts them to the social media accounts you connect. This policy explains which data the app uses, why, and what happens to it.
Data we use
- Store details: your store’s Shopify address, name and currency, and the access key Shopify gives the app when you install it.
- Product details: title, description, price and main photo of the products that get a video.
- Your settings: the store name and language for the voice-over, and which channels to post to.
- Videos: the script, the finished video and where it was posted.
- Social accounts: an identifier for the accounts you connect. You log in to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook on their own pages; ShopReels never sees your passwords.
ShopReels does not read or store any data about your customers or orders. The app only has permission to read products.
Why we use it
Only to make and post your product videos and to show them in the app. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Services that process data for us
- Shopify: installs the app and handles billing.
- Render: hosts the app and its database, in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Anthropic (Claude): writes the video script from the product details.
- Creatomate: makes the video and the voice-over (with ElevenLabs).
- Zernio: posts the video to the social accounts you connected.
Each of these services receives only the data it needs for its task. Some of them are located outside the European Union; where that is the case, data is transferred under the safeguards these services provide, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
As long as ShopReels is installed. After you uninstall the app, Shopify asks us to delete your store’s data, and we delete your settings, videos and access key. Videos that were already posted stay on your social media accounts; you can remove them there yourself.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time which data we hold about your store, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also file a complaint with your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
